Average Week

Maaung aga! So this week was just your average week. Lots of rain, lots of teaching, lots of rice, exchanges. Yeah. So after the news I heard this week of laws passed in America I spent lots of time pondering on how perfect our gospel is. Its literally so perfect. Like its so perfect that we have one powerful guy doing everything he can to destroy it. Satan is attacking families, because the family is the basic unit of the church. I love what Elder Christofferson said in the last general conference, "stand up in defense for Gods plan." We will have to stand firm our beliefs but respect the law of the land. I'm so grateful we have a living prophet to guide us at all times. On my mission I've truly learned the meaning of 'living is the world but not of the world' The world is always changing but God won't change. And he won't leave us alone. He has plan for us and its eternal. Yeah so I love this gospel. I love being a missionary. Halong kamo! Stay fresh!

One Year

Hi guysh. This week was a great week I have to say! So many tender mercies(: as I'm approaching my one year mark and looking back on my time here, I see change. I haven't felt like I've changed and honestly I didn't want to change. I thought I was okay the way I was. But from then to now I'm becoming the person my Heavenly Father wants me to be. I wasn't just called to serve to convert the people of the Philippines to the gospel but he has called me to serve so I could be converted to the gospel. I'm so eternally grateful.

So I was reading in 4 Nephi this week and I wanted to share this cute verse "surely there could not be a happier people among all the people who had been created by the hand of God" because when I read this verse I was just like 'this is about Filipinos.' They are so happy. The happiest people. They have opened my eyes and I'm so thankful to have been called to serve them!

So this week me and Sister Tatireta have seen so many miracles. Just small and simple miracles. But they have answers to our prayers. I know this is His work. I know He has a plan for each and everyone of us. All our investigators were teaching may not be baptized in my time, but God has a plan for them. Just trusting His timing. I love being a missionary so much. Halong kamo and stay super fresh.

... He Rescued his Family!

Guys hot season is over. Its over(: and now its rainy season!! I love rainy season because everyone is at home(: ah its so wonderful for the work! So like I've been reminded a lot lately that this month of June marks my one year mark. Holy wow times flies. And lately I've realized that I've actually been out a long time now, it doesn't feel like it but I have. Like sang una I used to get so pumped when I'd see white people. I'd be like 'yeah a white person! I know how to talk with them!' But now its like 'what is he doing here?' 'Don't make eye contact.' 'What's Maaung hapon in english?' So yeah its real.

I was in Heaven on Monday night. I was thrown my first surprise party. I got there and they were all like "Its still your birthday in America so happy birthday!"
My surprise birthday party(: these people are the best!
I was like oh how nice and then it turned into a big party and I was so spoiled by all these lovely people in Sum-ag and Santa Fe. I'm so glad they sent you all those videos and stuff. I couldn't wait to tell you so you wouldn't feel so bad about not getting a package here for my birthday, because this birthday I will never forget.
They bought a cake and brownies (the best brownies ever) and Ronwell gave me this super cool watch and Faith gave me a Meet The Mormons Philippines key chain. Jorjene played her guitar and they all sang this happy EFY song that made my heart so full of joy. Oh it was so wonderful mom.

This week Odin Arroz was baptized! He is my favorite person ever. Odin is 10. His family are all less active members but they are now returned because of his baptism(:Odin is so smart. I used to not feel like part member children baptism were not real baptisms but I was so wrong. We've taught him just like any investigator and he has found out the truth for himself just like any other investigator. He was so freaken prepared for baptism.
Baptism of Odin and rescue of Efraim(:
Like he was sick the day of his baptism and still came (that's like a big deal because when people even have a fever here they think they're dying and will not leave the house) he truly understands the importance of the gospel. His baptism was so much more than just for him, he rescued his family! He knows all my family too haha he know Allie, Josh and Madi. Josh he thinks your a beast, and you are. Oh I love them(:

Our MLC (missionary leadership council) was President and Sister Ferrins last meeting :/ they have made such a huge impact on my life. They truly had an eternal perspective and helped me to see it too. This mission is shaping the rest of my life right now and I didn't really see that until they got here. I love them so much.
President and Sister Ferrin(:
President Ferrin told us that missionaries learn as much and they learn about the gospel in 18 months that would take 30 years for us to learn after the mission. I know that is true. I feel my testimony grow everyday on my mission. Hey everyone, serve a mission okay? kthanks stay fresh! bye.

Surprise Party!

We received the following from a member in Jacey's old area of Santa Fe we (Jacey's family) couldn't watch without tears of joy!~ Thanks Ronwell:

Good day again, Brother Schimbeck, sir. :D

This is the full video of our birthday surprise to Sister Schimbeck. This has been done in my friend's home (Jorjene Aries) in Sum-ag. The video she was watching is a compilation of her photos from your home up to her current area, which we got majority from Instagram and her blog. Haha! Plus some birthday messages from the members of Santa Fe Ward. A family home evening followed.

She seems to be doing great, though a little stressed due to being a Sister Training Leader. Nevertheless, she's still the sweet, loving, kind, goofball daughter you used to have. And the members love her in her current area just as much as we love her in Santa Fe.

I hope this lessen your worries on your daughter's situation. God will always protect and bless her because she is on His errand.

God bless you all. And Stay Fresh! ^_^

The Slide Show:

Happy Birthday! Big 20!

Hi guys. So this week I turned 20. It was a week of emotions. At first I was excited I'm like yeah I'm gonna be 20! I'm not bata pa (child) anymore! And then it was my actual birthday and I was like oh, I'm old now.
Justin, Angel and Gigi my favorite little children(:
I'm not a teenager. But then a member was like 'no, you just turned twen-teen" hahaha yeah so now is cool again. My birthday was so so great! I've never felt so loved! They announced it in sacrament meeting and then all the opening prayer prayed that I would have a good birthday and they all wished me happy birthday in their testimonies! They are just so sweet! Then the Arruz family gave me lechon chicken! They're my favorite, Odin is getting baptized this Saturday(: I got a package from Grandma with kazoo's in it so I shared them with one family for my birthday!
The Melgar kids with their kazoo's!!
Okay its really funny because they don't have kazoo's here so I was trying to show them how it worked and I couldn't remember how to play it!! Luckly little 3 year old Justin figured it out!! Haha I love these people(:

So I read in 3 Nephi 17 this morning and it just became like my favorite chapter. Its a chapter where Jesus heals the sick and blesses the children. I mean he's always doing that but this chapter was just so special to me. This chapter just really shows the nature of Jesus Christ for me. He was so full of love and compassion towards them. I truly needed to feel that this morning (because the mission and being a STL is stressful and stuff but that doesn't matter) and verse 24 just touched my heart, "angels descending out of heaven.. they came down and encircled those little ones about..and the angels did minister unto them.
The Arruz family! I love them.
" I know we have angels encircling and ministering to us. I feel it everyday doing this work, I know I couldn't do this work if I didn't have those encircling angels pushing me on. And just like the Nephites enjoying the short time that Jesus was in their presence in verse 5, "..did look steadfastly upon Him as if they would ask him to tarry a little longer with them" I will always cherish the times that I feel him tarrying with me and walking with me. I love being His missionary so much! I wouldn't give it up for a drink from swig. Yep, well have a great week! Stay Fresh!

Chips A'hoy!

Sorry, I don't know what just happened. But yeah so this week was chill. The saddest part only was that I bought a Chips A'hoy knock off brand and they were not soft and chewy, I was very upset. But yeah other than that its been great.
Family Home Evening with the Marciada Family
and Brother Felix!
Just doing the work of the Lord and sweatin it out in the dirt everyday. Its cool. This week I realized just how long I've actually been gone now, like I just found out Zayn left one direction (yeah I almost cried). I found out that there's a Pitch Perfect 2!!! Like look what happens in just a year. Its crazy.
Selfies and Slushee tongues!
Yeah thats like all I remember about this week. I just want to share a verse I read in Matthew 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Is that verse not the most simple but powerful verse ever? I read it and I was just like, Amen. I've felt that so much here on the mission. I'm coming to see what is truly important in life. The treasures of the gospel. Its such a beautiful experience, I get to witness it everyday not only in my life but in the lives of these people here too. Where our hearts are is where we will go and what we will get. I love this work. I love my Savoir and I love being a missionary!! Halong kamo!

Stay fresh.
